Benefits of In-Home Therapy

One-on-One Attention

No two in-home therapy programs are alike because your sessions are based on your health conditions, abilities and personal goals. Working with a therapist at home means you have their undivided attention, so you get the most out of your training. Having an expert on hand can also provide a sense of comfort and reassurance.

Pain Management

In-home therapy is an effective alternative for coping with pain if you don’t want to use opioids or medication. Your therapist can modify exercises based on your comfort level and adjust your exercises as you grow stronger.

Caretaker Education

Your loved ones can work with your therapist to learn how to assist in your rehabilitation. That allows them to support you between therapy visits.

Our In-Home Therapy Services

Occupational Therapy

We contract occupational therapists to educate you and your loved ones on safely performing daily activities such as:

  • Dressing
  • Bathing
  • Meal preparation
  • Bed and chair transfers

An occupational therapist also assesses your ability and will determine if you require special equipment such as wheelchairs, scooters, grab bars and elevated toilets.

Speech Language Pathology

Our therapists provide treatment plans for conditions that affect your speech and swallowing. That may include Parkinson’s disease, stroke, head injury and dementia. Speech-language pathology is available if you require assistance with:

  • Swallowing dysfunction
  • Motor skills
  • Speech development
  • Cognitive and memory function

Physical Therapy

You will work with physical therapists on general movements, safety protocols and independence skills by focusing on:

  • Fall prevention
  • Balance training
  • Endurance training
  • Flexibility
  • Pain management
  • Range of motion

Physical therapists also determine if you could benefit from equipment such as canes, walkers and wheelchairs.

What to Expect from Ohioans In-Home Therapy Services

We collaborate with your physicians to achieve the best possible outcome.

Your therapy program is determined based on your doctor’s recommendation. We will schedule a 30- to 60-minute consultation to review the severity of your condition before prescribing a treatment plan.

Your therapist will evaluate the cause of your well-being and discuss what you hope to achieve through therapy. That includes defining everyday tasks that affect your quality of life. They will create a care plan based on that information and your medical history.

The frequency of your session is based on your initial evaluation, insurance and abilities. Your team will conduct follow-up assessments based on your care plan and update your doctor on your progress.
